A new lamp where I sleep

Hi all! Thank you for the warm welcome back.

A few weeks ago I purchased this vintage alabaster lamp off ebay. I'm still searching for another for Justin's side of the bed. The burlap shade was in the attic from the lamp downstairs with the green shade.

It is gorgeous!!!

Kitty thinks so too.

I haven't made any changes to our room since the makeover. Ok I made one change, I brought the basket downstairs to store decorating books beside the couch and put the other chair. I would really love to find a upholstered settee for the end of the bed.

Beautiful warm glow

Another view from outside the hall.

I still need to have curtains made. I already have several yards of toile fabric that matches the comforter at the end of the bed. But I'm not ready to make the commitment yet LOL The same goes for the chairs at the end of the bed that I want to have reupholstered. It is so difficult making decisions regarding fabric. Do you have the same problem? I'm going crazy!!

Have a happy week!
Michele

Your bedroom is just gorgeous! Every time I see your duvet it makes me want to get mine out. A friend made a set for us several years ago out of the same fabric. I keep admiring alabaster lamps and have stared at them on Ebay. I've never actually seen one in person though so that keeps me from ordering.

Welcome back! I've missed you!! Your bedroom is always so pretty. I love your new (old) lamp. I have one too that I found at an antique mall many years ago. It's one that I never plan on parting with. Yours looks to be in great condition too. Love the burlap shade on it.

Hi Michele,

Visiting you via Sherry's party today and just want to say that your style is ADORABLE! Like you, I love red and white, whether it's check or polka dot or stripe! Your toile-y duvet is perfect with the check and the lamp is the final fabulous touch!

Michele,
Glad you're back! The burlap shade is perfect on your new lamp. The room looks so cozy and inviting, I do love red! Fabric for me is a hard choice knowing that whatever I pick, I will have to live with it for a long time!

Hy Michelle! I know what you mean by difficult decisions for changing the fabrics. I work with fabrics, I have tons of beautifull fabrics but when I have to use them ..is like I'd rather preffer to have them packed one another and just watch them. Love the room.Hugs, Cristina

Thank you all :) I purchased the Euro shams from Horchow or Neiman Marcus, they were a splurge for the room since I couldn't find check ones I liked besides these.

That is such a pretty toile quilt, Michelle, I'll bet drapes in that fabric would look great in your room. Your lamp is very pretty. I love the neutral color to it. I think sometimes there are too many options in fabric. Sometimes I say, "this is definitely the one", and then I see something else!
