Porch decorated for fall

Last week was the week from hell, it truly sucked!
My computer fell from the shelf, all 3 of our toilets were backed up within days of each other, my phone broke, I had to go to the dr and then have a mammogram and the following day go back in for another mammogram, Reagan got a rash or something on the back of her neck, I was also dogsitting for my neighbor and this dog was awful I don't know how many times he went to the bathroom in my house.

Whew I think thats all?
I am SOOOOO stressed out!
Did I mention my husband is in Afghanistan?

Despite all that
It has been absolutely beautiful here!
The weather is cooler. I've got ONE window open and no a/c on.

So I finally stepped outside and took some pictures. I also put together some "topiaries" of my own.

excuse my crooked mat I just picked it up to shake leaves off.

I bought these mums Sunday from Lowes and bought some metal dowels while I was there.
Stabbed them through the bottom of the pumpkin and stuck it in my flowers.
I took two different ribbons and just made a simple bow.

(I ordered some vinyl "S' to stick on the pumpkins)

I found this cute chicken at one of my favorite antique shops in Selma.

Home.

I finally dug what I could of my halloween decorations out of the attic.
The light went out and I can't change it. bleh!
Oh have I told yall Jonathan decided he wants to have a Halloween party for his birthday on the 27th.
Wooohooo!! It is going to be a blast.

I've been busy preparing for my inlaws visit, they will be here for Reagan's birthday which is on the 18th.  October is a busy but FUN month for us!

Hey Michele,
I wondered how you were since no posts had popped up from you. Sorry about your bad week. Believe I understand the stresses of deployment all too well. I'm here for you if you need anything.

Your front porch is precious! You really went all out on the mums and pumpkins together. That is a clever idea and the bows are the finising touch.

Warmly, ~Melissa :)

Sorry to hear about your bad week...sounds awful. I feel like everything goes to poop when the husbands are deployed. Hope you have a better week! I love your porch though, it looks so cute and festive! Loving your bench in the flower bed and your rooster on the steps. Cute idea with the pumpkins in the urns.

Hugs

Everything looks great on your porch. That was a good idea to place your pumpkins on top like that with bows. When you get the "S" monograms on them it will look even cuter! October is such a fun month isn't it?

I'm so sorry that you had a horrible week ... and am sure that this week will be MUCH better! At least you have a sense of humor about it ... sometimes, that's the best medicine isn't it? Your entry is absolutely beautiful ... full of Fall goodness. Your mums are gorgeous and love how you added the pumpkins to the top (the vinyl initial will be the perfect touch). Your bench looks great, too ... love the basket, as well. Great job!
