My French Country"ish" finds

I went to a couple yard sales a few weeks ago and came across these gorgeous chairs! I was smitten.

Ok to be honest with you I actually walked away from them to look around at some other stuff, until I saw a van full of ladies walk up the driveway...I ran back to the chairs and told the lady. I'll take them, $30 for both!

They had been her Mother's and her mom did the fleur de lis needle work. She said they were atleast 80 years old. The other chair hadn't been reuphostered yet but she gave me the finished needlework. I just need to find someone around here who can do it for me. The back of the chair is finished in a red velvet.

I picked up the vintage children's cookbooks for my little ones.
I LOVE the phone, I can't wait to hang it in my kitchen. I got that baby for $3.
It needs a little reworking. It receives calls, but doesn't ring, and you can't call out.

Look at this copper bathtub...*cough* I mean boiler.
Reagan thinks it is a bathtub LOL

I found it at one of my favorite antique shops in downtown Selma.

We have been busy here! Justin had his ALS graduation ceremony last Thursday (I will share pictures soon) and Friday was his Birthday.
We'll be celebrating our 5th wedding Anniversary in less than 2 weeks. A week after that Jonathan will go live with his dad for the school year and Justin will go to 7 lvl school for 2 weeks.
He'll be home for a short time and then he'll be TDY in Utah for a couple weeks.

While hubby is gone my older sister will be visiting from Houston, so in the mean time I will be getting our home visitor ready LOL
I'm so excited, while she is here we will celebrate our birthday's together (hers is the day before mine)

Sooooo I will be popping in and out!
I hope y'all are keeping cool! Have a happy and safe 4th of July.

  6. Michele,
Girl, that is some great stuff! Those chairs are fantastic, wonderful lines! I've got a soft spot for cookbooks, (even though I'm not a big cooker), and the red phone, I love red! We sold copper boilers like that in our store for over a $100.00s. Great find! You did good! Sounds like you are going to have a busy but fun summer!
    Keep Cool!
